Exportin to Excel Format Issue

I have a report that contains a matrix control on it. The problem I'm having
is when I export the report to Excel some of the data is not recognized a
numeric and I get the green triangle in the corner of the cell. I believe
this is due to the matrix having some blank columns along with numeric data.
If I fill the report with a 0â's instead of "", the report becomes very hard
to read and is not acceptable by the client.
I have tried setting the textbox visibility to false, but then that also
removes the grid lines around the cell.
I have tried to create a custom format based on the data type and that did
not work.
Does anyone know how I can format just the numeric fields to a number and
the still leave the blank cells as blank when I export to Excel? Thanks...
I have provided a basic example below.
Row1 - 45 - 55 - - 60
Row2 - 50 - - 45 - 45We are having a similiar problem. The only way we have found is the copy,
paste special, values in a new worksheet. You loose all formating in that
case.

Export to PDF

I have created report using the Matrix control. It looks fine in the
HTML format. The problem arises when I export the report to PDF. The
starting pages of the report look very good, but latter on some pages
are missing header and lines are out of order. This behavior continues
for few pages and after that everything is back to normal. However
after few pages everything starts all over again.
Does anybody have encountered similar problem and found a solution for
it?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
AlexWhat version of Reporting Services are you using?

Export to PDF

I have a wide report and i want to export it to PDF in lanscape mode. How can i do that? Setting page layout in ReportViewer control has no effect on generated PDF document - it is always in portrait mode.

Check out Brian Welcker's blog entry on the topic:

Export to Excel exports HTML formatting too

Is there a way to control exporting only the data in a report and not the html with it?

By "HTML" I think you mean the layout of the report and the style information associated with each item.

The Excel Renderer is a layout renderer, which means it tries to maintain the closest visual fidelity possible to the report definition and other renderers (HTML, PDF). There isn't a way to export only data using the Excel rendering extension.

You might be able to use the CSV renderer for your data; CSV is a data-only renderer and can be opened in Excel.

You should be able to use something like the following (basically,
call a header):
------
Response.Clear();
Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "attachment;filename=" +
Session["SpecialName"].ToString() + "NameOfExcelSpreadsheet.xls");
Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.xls";
System.IO.StringWriter sw = new System.IO.StringWriter();
HtmlTextWriter htw = new HtmlTextWriter(sw);
this.ObjectName.RenderControl(htw);
Response.Write(sw.ToString());
Response.End();
------
I'm not certain this will work in the Report Viewer itself though. You
might need to add a button/etc to accomplish this outside the report
viewer. Hope this helps.

Export Report Result into Word Format using ReportViewer in asp.net2.0

Hi,

I am very new to ReportViewer in asp.net2.0 web server control which is a part of data. I dont know how to export my report result into word format. I am not using crystal report or SQL server 2005 reorting services. Please give me a solution to export my report result into WordFormat?

Divya

Reportviewer local edition only allows you to export to Excel of PDF. Word format is not yet supported.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your response.

Can I done it through programatically?

I have one more doubt. I bind my report with the ReportViewer control. But it shows the vertical scrollbar. Is any way to hide the scrollbar and set the no of reports displayed per page? Please reply me soon.

Thanking You

Divya

I don't think you can export it to Word (check on that). For the scrollbars, set the Asyncrendering property to false and SizeToReportContent property to true. This will size the reportviewer according to the content rendered.
