Export/Import via web

Scenario:
- W2k server sp4 / sql server 2k sp4 box.
- firewall with only port 80 opened.
I have to:
Query data from remote server to export into local server.
I would like to do it via ASP/IIS in one step.
How can I do it?
Regards.
Gibe si fatto passare perch Rossi dietro come una purga, prima o
poi una cagata te la fa fare...!Hi
I am not an ASP expert and you may get a better reply in a internet
programming newsgroup.
I don't know of any way to do this in one step! Some componenets will let
you save the contents to file (such as an excel spreadsheet) but it is a two
stage process to select/insert the data and then save it. Other two process
would be to have scheduled jobs or DTS packages to create the files and then
allow the user to download them.

Export window does not close

Report Server 2005; .NET framework 2.0; IE 6.0

I view a report in Report Manager, then I click the drop-down box and select an output type, select Save, and a new blank web page opens, then the small export window opens asking for the filename. The file is created, then I close the export window, but the blank web page window does not close. I can see that the web page showing my original view of the report is still open, but I have to close the blank web page myself. While not really an error, this is an annoyance for users. Is there a setting that will help prevent this problem? Is this a bug?

Thanks for any help.

Getting same problem as mentioned by DawnJ..

i want to rectify this problem as soon as possible..Reply back friends if u have relevant information for this thread...

Thanks in Advance

Export to Word

But I guess you want to export directly to Word, this is not possible with
RS out of the box.
So is it possible to export to Word at all? I would like to know if this is
possible by customizing the RSReportServer.config file, installing a RS
add-on, leveraing somthing in the .NET framwork, etc. Any adivice is most
appreciated.
MattHello Matt,
Glad you asked! :)
SoftArtisans OfficeWriter is an add-on to Reporting Services that lets you
design and deliver reports in Word format.
The product consists of a custom designer toolbar for Word and Excel, and
a custom Word and Excel rendering extension.

Let me know if you have any questions.
