Export to PDF and print in landscape

Hello

I have a report which I can print on legal paper, once I choose the landscape settings on print menu. When the same report is set to export to a file share in pdf format, it renders in portrait format. Is it possible to have the pdf document look like the landscape view so that the user can just hit print.

Thanks

Inder

No,

you would probably have to setup two reports, one in landscape and one in portrait.

Hello

Thanks for the answer, but how do I set up the report in landscape or for that matter portrait?

|||

HI,

In the report designer, click on the small square in the top left hand corner of the page so you can view the page properties. Now set the page size in the properties box to 29.7 width and 21 height.

I can get screenshots if you need them?

Export to html and print

Hi all,
i've created a print button for users to obviously print their reports. When
it's clicked, the webpage automatically renders the report into a html view.
The i've written some javascript 'window.print() actually ;)' so it
automatically begins printing.
But when i look to the report after it is printed, i see that when i have eg
15 columns, only the first three are printed. (so only the first page). Do i
have to add something specifiek so that it prints the entire page ? Because
everything is well rendered, it just doesn't print good.
Thanks in advance !
Kind regards,

koen.vermeire@.gmail.comI think what you are doing is the same thing as if the user printed from IE
using the print functionality of IE. You only get the page that is currently
visible.
My suggestion if you can wait is to do so. By the middle of this month SP2
will be released and it includes client side printing.

internship. So i wanted to deliver a complete solution to my company. But as
you said, SP 2 will be out soon, so i'll guess it'll be beter to wait for
that.
Thanks for the very fast response ;)

Export to Excel

Hi, i am trying to export report data to excel but when i choose to print,
its default layout is set to LANDSCAPE and i want to set the layout to
PORTRAIT. HOw can i do. If anybody has done it pls share it with me.
Thanks
JAsvinderJasvinder,
we found the same problem with PDF files.
The way around it, for us, was to simply create the form wide so it
defaulted to lscape. This cannot be the correct way it was intended, but
after reading through the help files, it was the only solution we found, and
it worked.

landscape.

Towards the bottom of the properties dialog there is an Interactive Settings
and Page Settings for width/height. The Page width/height is probably set to
11 - 8.5, change this to 8.5 - 11. Build and deploy your project and see if
this corrects your problem.

Export SSRS 2005 Report to Excel

Hi,

I have created a report in SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. After I export it to Excel format, if I try to print it (Hardcopy), my Excel crashes. It shows an error and shut down. I'm using Excel 2000. It even shows me same error when I click on "Print Preview", in Excel.

Everytime I try to print the excel worksheet, a window pops up with the heading "Visual Studio Just-in-Time Debugger". The error is: "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in EXCEL.EXE [3460]".

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Perm

Hi Perm,

What happens when you save and re-open the Excel Report?

|||

Thanks for the reply.

I can save it and re-open it without any problem. Excel crashes only when I click on "Print Preview" or when I try to print a hardcopy.

|||This sounds like an Excel issue, but maybe I can help narrow down the problem. What report objects do you use in your report and how are they formatted? You can send the RDL and\or this information directly to me so I can take a look and try to see what the cause is. bradsy@.removemicrosoft.com|||Was this ever solved? I have a user who is running into the same issue and am having trouble finding a solution to this.

Export Schema

Hi,

Not sure if this is a simple question...

I would like to export the schema of my database to allow me to print it out in an easily viewable form ( preferably in to visio ). Is this possible, perhaps through a wizard so i can just show the primary / secondary keys of the tables and how they all link ?

Many thanks for your responses.

in Visio there is an option to Update Model from Database. Open a visio window. You will have "Database " Menu . Select Update... Follow the on screen instruction(you will have to make connection and all.... i assume that u r familier with Visio) and one window you will have an option called update Model from database. Select that and go ahead. It will create schem of your database in visio

Export report to Excel - not workin

HI,
I am running Excel 2000 with RS. I have created a report and when I right
click on the report and select 'Print With', 'Excel', the contents of the
excel file are all machine code and does not contain anything from the
report?
How do you export to excel?
ThanksWhen you do a right mouse click on the report you are just getting some
options for IE. Instead you should select a format and then click on export
in the toolbar. Make sure you have at least service pack 1 installed to
support Excel 2000 format otherwise you will just get a bunch of
gobbledeegook in Excel.
